Information in off

off lets you add audio files and, with your permission, select items from your Apple Music library. When you import an audio file, off makes a copy in its storage on your device. It also stores information needed to show and play your collection, such as song titles, artists, albums, artwork, music-library identifiers, saved lyrics and favourites. Your preferences, including listening-view and haptic settings, are stored on your device.

To support haptic features, off keeps limited diagnostic information on your device. This can include an event and its time, whether the device supports haptics, settings, a pulse count and error details. These records may be updated as you use the app. Some app documents, including imported files and diagnostic files, may be visible in the Files app.

off does not require an account with Lucky Day Labs. The app does not send your music files, library information or haptic diagnostics to Lucky Day Labs, and it does not include third-party advertising or analytics software.

Apple may make crash and usage reports available to app developers depending on your device's sharing settings and the service used. Apple says TestFlight crash reports are shared with developers. These reports are separate from off's local haptic diagnostics.

This website

This website is hosted by OpenAI through ChatGPT Sites. To provide and protect the site, OpenAI may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, the time of a request and the pages requested.

If access to the website requires Sign in with ChatGPT, OpenAI may share your name, email address and profile photo, if available, with the site after you approve sign-in. The hosting service uses account information to manage access. The off app itself does not require a ChatGPT account.

Our website code does not load analytics or advertising scripts. OpenAI may use cookies or similar technologies as described below. Our website code does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals. See OpenAI’s Privacy Policy for information about its services.

If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any other information or attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond and provide support.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies and similar technologies can store information in your browser. Our website code does not add analytics or advertising trackers. If we introduce optional analytics or advertising tools under our control, we will explain their purposes and ask for your consent before enabling them. You will be able to change your choice.

OpenAI hosts this site and may use cookies or similar technologies for operating its service, security, sign-in or analytics. Its Cookie Policy lists __Host-appgarden-visitor, an analytics cookie for chatgpt.site with a 90-day duration. The cookies used can vary by service, region and privacy choices. OpenAI manages its own cookies. Our notice does not control them.

For OpenAI's cookies, review the choices described in its Cookie Policy and any settings OpenAI makes available. You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect access or sign-in.

Our Cookie settings let you record whether you allow or reject optional tools controlled by off. There are currently no such analytics or advertising tools in use. Closing the notice without choosing does not grant consent. If we add optional tools, we will identify them and ask for a new choice before enabling them, regardless of your earlier preference. These settings do not control OpenAI's cookies.

When JavaScript and browser storage are available, we use local storage to remember the notice dismissal (off_cookie_notice_v5) and any optional preference (off_optional_preference_v1). These records remain until you clear your browser storage or the settings change; you can change your preference using Cookie settings in the footer. If storage is unavailable, your choice may not persist across pages or visits. This preference storage is used to operate the notice itself.

Apple and other services

Apple handles your Apple Music account, music-library permission and Apple Music playback. If you choose a file from iCloud Drive or another Files provider, that provider handles its own service. Apple and other providers process information under their own privacy policies; see Apple’s privacy information.

We use service providers to operate the website and handle email. Information is shared with those providers as needed to provide those services. They may process information in countries other than the one where you live. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect legal rights.

Where data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website and responding to support requests, and on compliance with legal obligations where necessary.

Retention and deletion

Your off library, imported copies, preferences and diagnostics remain on your device until they are removed or the app is deleted. When you remove an imported song, off removes its library entry and attempts to delete the app’s copy and saved artwork. It does not delete the original file from its source or remove a song from Apple Music. If a copy remains, you can remove it in Files or delete the app.

Deleting the app removes its local app data from your device. Offloading an app is different and can leave its documents and data on the device. Depending on your settings, app data may also be included in an iCloud or computer backup. Those copies remain until you manage or delete the relevant backups.

We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to answer your request, maintain business records, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations. Website service information may be retained by our hosting provider under its applicable policies.

Your choices

You can choose which files and music-library items to add, remove songs in off, change music-library permission in your device’s Settings, adjust app preferences or delete the app. You can also manage backups through your device or backup provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information we hold, receive a copy, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where applicable, or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. Because your off library is stored on your device, you control it there; we cannot remove it remotely.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as off, the website or our practices change. We will post the updated policy here and change the date above. If applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
